How to fill your bean bag

Fill Co White beans poured from cupped hands into an oatmeal cover

Instructions

  1. Step 01

We recommend you fill your bean bag in a bathtub or another enclosed room where any spilled beans can be contained and cleaned up quickly and easily. Do not fill bean bags outside or near children.

  2. Step 02

First, use scissors to carefully cut along the dashed line at the top of the Fill Co bag, just below the stitched fold in the paper. For our Envee bean customers, there is no dashed line, but you can do the same.

  3. Step 03

Get a family member or friend to unzip the bean bag or separate insert and hold it open. Create a spout with the paper bag and carefully pour the beans into the bean bag. Shake gently until all the beans are in.

  4. Step 04

Check the area for any spillage, pick up any loose beans and put them into the bean bag. Mandatory child-safety zippers have no pull tabs—use a paperclip to close them, and enjoy!

  5. Step 05

Sit in it, then decide. Fill to a bit less than the volume your cover states and give it a day to find its shape. If you'd like it fuller or firmer, add a little. It is easier to put more in than take it out. As a guide, we like our bean bags filled with Fill Co Black and Envee beans slightly less full than with our Fill Co White beans.

What can you do with our packaging after filling your bean bag?

  • We package Fill Co beans carefully to avoid damage and spills from rough couriers during transit.

  • All our shipping boxes are made in Australia from 100% recycled content and sealed with paper-based tape. Inside the shipping box, you will find our Fill Co beans sealed safely inside a tough paper bag.

  • All our boxes and bags are recyclable from home in your kerbside recycling bin. Disposing of our packaging consciously will allow these materials to be used to make more packaging in the future.

  • Before recycling, you can also reuse and repurpose all our packaging. The paper bags make great drawing paper, and the boxes can provide hours of fun for children!
